Hi,
I'm Latin American, 35 years old, have 8 years out of school as an Materials Engineer. Pretty soon i should be 6-9 months in Beijing China making studies about satellite design (materials and mechanical mainly).
I wonder how important professionally it could be in order to apply for jobs in europa, canada, or the states?

Thanks,

Well, as much of the space industry is interrelated with defense you may face other difficulties. Not necessarily insurmountable but clearances for non citizens, especially ones who have spent a bunch of time in potentially competitor nations, can be tricky.

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)

KENAT: I got it, and think you are right, those are difficulties i will face.
Although -i hope, maybe there are some countries (in europa mostly) that put this satellite knowledge as main criteria to recruit. Don´t you think?

" there are some countries (in europa mostly) that put this satellite knowledge as main criteria to recruit."

I think that's wishful thinking. Do you really think that Europe has no graduates in satellite design? Even though they've been launching satellites for decades? There may be some wiggle room in the US due to the insistence on creating a commercial space industry, ala SpaceX.
