I have an EPDM coating dissolved into solvent that I am trying to saturate into paper. So far, I have tried dip, wringer style and hydrostatic pressure but the coating only adheres to the top edge of the paper, and does not go directly into the centre so that I get a thorough saturation of it. Does anyone have anysuggestions as to what I need to check or look at? The paper is 132 pound basis weight kraft paper. the molecular weight of the EPDM base polymer is 135,000 g/mol. I have tried wetting agents as well.Thank you.

Check on the sizing and porosity of the web you are trying to saturate. You can find special paper webs that are designed for absorbing liquids. The biggest end use for this type of paper is in decorative laminates (desktops, countertops)
