Hi,

Just a quick question: from what percentage of saturation do you consider total saturation of clays? Also, at what percentage, clays can be considered partially saturated? For consolidation settlement analysis, could you use the 1-D Terzaghi equation, although the clays are partially saturated?

Thanks !

what do you mean by "percentage". are you talking "moisture content" or something else?

I would have thought you could get consolidation settlement and apply the 1D Terzhagi equation for a partially saturated clay.

For example, if you have 90% of saturation can the 1D Terzaghi consolidation equation still apply?
