I have downloaded from ptc the new wildfire (sneak peek 2). They advertised that you can save a file as a pro/e 2001 or 2000i2. Does anyone know how to do it?

I did it by saving the Wildfire file as a neutral file (.neu) and then opening this in 2001.

I don't want to loose the history. Once you save it's like a 2001 or 2000i2 native part having all features in the Model Tree.

But PTC is still saying that it is under development phase? Commercial version is not yet available!!!

How to purchase this?

Even the released version of Wildfire will not maintain the history when the file is opened in 2000i2 and 2001. Ben Loosli

Don't worry Ediushu, I saw a version of WILDFIRE which had this capability. The PTC guy saved a part created in Wildfire in 2000i and 2001 versions. And then he loaded the part in 2001. An it worked. I think Steve is right. The version available for download doesn't have this feature enabled.

I just checked this out on the released version of WildFire.
I see no option for saving as a different version. If the function is there, it's hidden somewhere.

It isn't hidden, the files are saved as .neu (neutral) files. These can then be loaded in 200012 or 2001.
I just did a 3 piece assembly. You need to do this from different directories so you can maintain the same file names. Mating conditions were all lost because I had to rename all of the details.

Saving as a neutral file isn't what he was referring to. Neutral files are nothing new to Pro/E and is just another option to strip the model history from a part file - similar to IGES and STEP.

PTC published that there was going to be functionality to file natively (.prt) to an earlier version.
