Hi,
I am a new user of Autocad 2006. I want to know that how can I save my file as Autocad 9 ASCII dxf format?
One may ask that why I need this. In fcat, One of my other program accepts only this format type during geometry import action.

Autocad release 9 came out 20 years ago and is likely that you will find very little if any support for this version by Autodesk or any other software company.

AutoCAD 2004 only offers you the option to save DXF files back to R12.

perhaps you can go on Ebay and find an old autocad 9 installation disk. Or perhaps enough older versions that you can open and export to older versions and get back to version 9. Of course, those old versions may not run on windows.

If you do not have any objects in your drawing that are specific to versions above 9, then a DXFOUT or SaveAs may give you a dxf file that your other software can use. For instance if all you have are 2D lines and circles then I'm almost sure it would work. Give it a try - you have nothing to lose! If you have already tried it and it did not work, try a google search for translators or as a last resort, edit the dxf file yourself..
