Save as .exe eDrawing directly from SW 4

Not a big deal, but is there any was to save an eDrawing as the executable (.exe) version directly from SW.

Currently, I have to save my SW file as an eDrawing (.eprt) Then open that file in eDrawings, and then save it out as a .exe file so the recipient doesn't have to download eDrawings viewer.

Is there an easier way? I am hoping there is a check box or option somewhere that I am missing.

(The best and easiest option would be to have everyone just download the free viewer, but that isn't going to happen for everyone.)

I usually will do "File/Publish to eDrawings", then click on "send" when eDrawings opens.
It's possible that a macro could be written for this, if not one already.

I use the htm filetype of eDrawings just for the purpose you describe. The eDrawing will open in their browser, but the first time they do this they will be prompted to allow an ActiveX control to run. This is just for eDrawings and perfectly safe. Once they do this then any other eDrawing with the htm extension they d-click on will open just fine. There is no need to download anything nor to send an exe file. I see so many systems that will not allow you to send exe files anyway so I don't bother with that option.

The Publish/Send works real good. Much easier and I don't end up with a local copy of the file on my drive that I have to go back and delete after I send it.

I can't get the html to open in my browser (it opens a blank screen and doesn't ask to download activeX). I will play with my security settings and I'm sure it will be fine. That seems like the best file type to send out.

You should also check the browser. I have much better luck with Internet Explorer, though I use Firefox for my default browser. If I recall correctly the eDrawing doesn't work with Firefox, but does with IE. I don't know about Chrome.
