When I save an Inventor .idw as .dwg, I get lines showing that shouldn't. The Inventor drawing has the hidden lines removed, but all of the edges show in AutoCAD.

I'm running Inventor 5.3 and AutoCAD 2002.

I'm trying to export assembly drawings for a manual and really need only the visible faces showing.

Thanks.

Hi Bshaw,
most of the time when you export IDW files to DWG files and that the result has lines that doesn't belong there is because Inventor hasn't have time to do the precise view generation of its IDW. For exemple if you try printing and IDW that didn't have time to do the precise view generation it will print all sorts of lines everywhere on the drawing it's the same thing when exporting.

Precise view generations where created because Inventor is a program that works well with a Dual processor, thus when Inventor is regenerating views with a dual processor it is only using half of one CPU to generate the views and the other CPU to continu working on the drawing.

Hope it helps
