Save my settings on old file?

I'm trying to save my personal settings (toolbars, dims, text, cells, levels) to files that are old. When I say old I mean, I am not creating a new drawing, these are files being used every day. I open my files and every morning I have to set everything again.
Can I apply a new seed file to an old dgn file?

Unfortunately seed files can only be used as a template for a new drawing. You need to learn the key-in for each setting. For example, to set the font to 1, text size to 2mm, the key-ins would be 'ft=1' , 'tx=2' etc.

The key-ins can then be combined as either a user command file or as a macro. User command files are the more straightforward. Open Notepad and put each key-in on its own line as follows:
key 'ft=1'
key 'tx=2'
etc

Save the file as 'filename.ucm' in c:\bentley\workspace\system\ucm

In each Microstation file, type uc=filename and the script will execute all the settings changes in one go. Make sure that 'save settings on exit' is ticked in your preferences to ensure correct settings stick or add key 'filedesign' to the ucm.

The macro option is more complicated but does provide an option to automatically run the script every time a drawing is opened.
