Saving a deformed body

Hi,

I have had mixed results using the "create body from deformed shape" command. (right-click the results folder to bring up the command option) Often I'll get the error "unable to sew faces together", but there's no explanation as to what the cause could be or how to solve it. One solution might be to save the deformed shape as a surface body rather than a solid. Is this possible?
