My company uses adept as our file management system. Often, however, parts & assembly models submitted to drafting are located on the engineer's computer and must be saved as controlled documents. I have been playing with the in-context features which many of us have started using. I'm aware that saving parts and assemblies with features in-context to one another could break the relationship. And I know that the way to fix that is to pick the "references" button in the save dialogue box. However, I'm creating a work construction and need to illustrate the SW message that prompts you to do this. I only had it appear once and can't seem to duplicate it. I've tried many different ways. Does anyone know a particular situation I should create to generate this message? If not, does anyone know exactly what this message states? Thanks.

I'm not sure what error message your talking about?

I don't quite understand what you mean by saying this? You can save parts and assemblies fine wehn they are in-contexted. It's when you have an assembly open and a part that is referencing that assembly open, because of an in-contexted relationship. It will give you a message letting you know that this part is in-contexted to the open assembly.

If you really want to change names or Copy the files. You should use SW Explorer.
