New to Solidworks (07). I have an older assembly that I want to keep record of and do not want it altered. However, I need to revise this assembly with some new components as a new revision. What is the best way to leave the old assy "as is" and still be able to bring in some of the parts and assemblies into my "new revision"?

Probably the simplest way is to use the Pack and Go function to copy all the parts (or just selected ones) and drawings to a new folder.

The most efficiant way is to purchase some type of PDM software.
