I have tried searching for this, but can't find the answer. I'm new to NX (and Teamcenter as well).

Can I save a part outside of teamcenter, so I can make an internal drawing for my personal use? I would like to do all this work in NX 7.5 for training purposes so I can learn NX. Thanks in advance.

You should be able to disconnect your NX session from TC.
When you do a save-as, can you select a disk folder instead of TC?

Depending on how your environment is set up you should be able to disconnect your NX session from TC, as looslib mentioned above, or start a native NX session as you would have done if you weren't using TC at all. Your sysadmin will be able to answer your question on how to start NX native at your site.

If you have models in TC that you would like to work with outside of TC you can find "Export Assembly outside Teamcenter" in NX file menu. With this command you can export models for native NX work.

There is however a possibility that this functionality is removed depending on your environment...
