SAW Resonators?

Hi I am trying to adapt an RF remote control system using a new transmitter, a couple of the devices state they use SAW stabilised resonators. I am aware that these devices are used to stabilise the clock frequency but I would like to find out more about the topic, can anyone help, thanks.
