I am constantly being requested to print a site/plot plan and different scales. I have small icons, or blocks, that indicate the location of firehydrants. The smaller i print, the bigger the icon...the bigger i print the smaller the icon...Is there a way to have a constant scale on the icon/block so that at every scale i print, the icon is the same??? i know, i know.....the answer is GIS so please, no GIS answers...

bighappy11,

which ACAD-version are you running?
How do you plot, where are your blocks? Paperspace, modell?
Normally the blocks have a constant scale. I have never seen your scale-problem...

have you placed your blocks in model space or paper space ?

I usually print from paperspace. the blocks are placed in model place, but even if i place them in paperspace, i would still have to re-scale them to fit the larger size paper. Using ACAD 2004.

My drawing can not fit in autocad 2004. the office space I am trying is 50' by 40'.
can anybody tell me what I need to do?

If you have symbol manager look into that, otherwise
its probably a model space, paper space issue.

Sounds like your symbol is being set at a scale before
its entered into the drawing which also might be
affected by your ltscale.

Sometimes your first set-up a drawing your ltscale will effect how your symbols. It happens alot.
