Scale note in drawing view

Is there a way to add a scale note to a drawing view (not sheet scale) that will update if the view scale is updated (using custom scale)? This happens automatically with detail or section views, but not inserted model views. I've tried to copy & paste scale text from a section view thinking maybe there was some embedded link, but this did not work either.

The only way I know is you link to sheet scale. Maybe thru API you can link to view scale, have not tried it.
