Hi,

I need to scale a print job 1:30, 1:40, or 1:50. I can't get any of the scales to work. It's always WAY too big on paper. Im thinking maybe my units are messed up or not setup.

How do I make it where 1" = 30, 40, or 50 feet on paper? I need it to fit on a Letter size paper. Currently im printing by using "Scale to fit" and then using Window and selecting the parts I need to show up. :( As you know, this is not accurate when you are using a ruler and need measurements. :(

How do I setup my current drawing so I don't have to start all over again? Im guessing I need to use Mview? How do I use this command anyway?

Thank you

In autocad 2000 plus-use model space to draw to scale, then used paper space with a mview window that you set the scale with the edit command. It pretty complicated to learn but easy to apply once you figure it out. one of the Cad magazines had four article called losted in paper space that explains it. When I get to my office i will give you the web address.

Ok, thanks. Let me know asap because I need to finish this. :)

I am sorry but i could not pull up the four articles getting "lost in paper space" by Lynn Allen on thier CADence Magazine web site. I could not find them posted there anymore. Get on thier web site and post a note or email to her. She can get you a copy or some one on the cadence web can help.

a scale of 1"=50' has a scale factor of 600. When transferring a drwg. from MP to PS you must open a viewport(floating) in PS to see your drwg. drawn in MS. Drawing must be scaled down by a factor of 1/600 and to do that either open the viewport tool bar and insert the scale such as 1"=50' or on command line type Z>S>1/600XP but make sure that you are in status bar is in MS. Drawing will fit the viewport which should be not less than the size of the printable area for a letter size or any other size paper.

anyway the cadence magazine articles are as follows: the "lost in Paper Space-Again" was issue july-2001,"Lost in Paper Space-Again (part 2)", issue aug-2001, "Setting Scales in Paper Space (part 3)" issue date 9-2001 and "Paper Space Dimensioning: The Final Chapter" oct 2001, hope this helps.

Ah...That worked. Thanks everyone.
