HELLO,
i have one query, for sand cast part i am creating a pattern and now i want to add shrinkage through scale features. so my question is that does centorid position really affect your scaling propotion. like i made one part whose origin is at base of part but if i create the same part about new origin like center of total length then is there posibility that pattern size would vary?

Best thing to do is test it with a single body and a pattern.

It just scaled the bodies, not the pattern for me.

Centroid does not affect proportion. You may want to use a fixed point for centroid to keep consistent position.

Shrinkage varies depending on the features, like holes. I usually make a new configuration, scale the part, then make another configuration and add holes/machinable features.

Scale affects what you scale, so if you scaled a patterned set of bodies, then you would change the spacing of the bodies accordinlgy.

If like Scott said, you scaled a body, then patterned it, the pattern is not in the scope of the scale feature and the spacing will stay the same.
