What are your opinions of using Schrader fittings on a R-410a system in general and more specifically for a place to mount pressure switches vs brazing. The idea is - in a tight package, it is easier to replace a defective pressure switch that's fitted to a Schrader fitting than tear the unit apart such that one can un-braze and re-braze the switch.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
Bill

Schrader fittings are used all the time for pressure switches and the schrader fittings are brazed especially for 410a with its hi pressure system.

Make sure the fitting's o-ring seal is compatible chemically with the refrigerant material. The other thing is to watch for vibrations. A heavy switch on a simple schrader fitting will break-off quickly. Otherwise is it should be fine to do so.
