Screw/Worm Hose Clamps on pneumatic lines

I'm having some trouble finding if typical screw/worm drive hose clamps are allowed or not allowed to be used on pneumatic hoses for assembly tools in a typical assembly factory. Air pressure is 125psi max.
We are using barbed fittings, 1/4" hose,etc.. and typical screw drive hose clamps with them.
A member of our safety team said that OSHA does not allow that however I cannot find anything stating they cannot be used nor could they provide me with any additional information.

I've only found some references to pressures above 175psi and hydraulic lines but nothing definitive for 125psi max pneumatic lines.

Suggest you [politely but firmly] request that citation of OSHA from that member. Pretty sure that it does not exist. There MAY be a prohibition from using screw-clamp to hold hose onto a smooth tube, but there is not one for securing a hose onto a barbed connection.

BTW, take a look at PUSH-LOK fittings from Parker-Hannifin. First was forced to use some about 25-years ago; they "just didn't look right". but later I fell in love with them; they are quick, simple, solid and 'elegant'.

Yeah we asked for a voluntary OSHA inspector to come in and audit our facility the other day which is what brought this up.
I wasn't part of it but thats where this safety team member got it.
We should get the report from the OSHA inspector today.
I was just making up a hose the other day and was told I couldn't do it that way anymore.

This morning they said the inspector mentioned that the screw clamps could work its way loose and then the hose would become a "whipping device".
But I'm awaiting the report for true confirmation/citation.

I saw the PUSH-LOK fittings the other day too.. They do look pretty neat.. But I bet they are expensive as most of parkers stuff is.

The only other "violation" we got was they found a single spray bottle of lubricant that wasn't properly labeled.. oops.
