Search for rebar tensile test 2,800kN 2

Hi,

I am currently looking for a material testing facility of building material products that has the capability of conducting destructive tensile tests on reinforcing bar to ASTM A615 /ASTM A370 standard.

The testing machine will need to be of particularly high calibre as the breaking strain of the bar is 2800kN. The bar is a high grade 63.5mm bar.

I would be most grateful if anyone could direct me to such an institute.

Our laboratory has the following capabilities for tensile testing of reinforcing steel:

600,000 lb. capacity , can grip up to 3.5 inches

The capacity is somewhat less than what you require.

While located at a University, the facility is available for testing of commercial products. While I was a student in the building I witnessed the machine in action several times, and it was always quite impressive. Might be a bit overkill for your needs, but it should meet them.
