Where is the replace face option simplify surface in Nx 5.022?

Right on the Direct Modeling toolbar where it should be. OR Insert -> Direct Modeling -> Replace Face.

Make sure your Roles are set to Advanced with full menus.

are you sure? In Nx501 but not in Nx502....
roles are ok

Replace Face is in the NX 5.0.2.2 Direct Modeling set of functions, even if you're running the 'Essential' role WITHOUT the full menus.

One question I have, why would you want to use replace face? The only reason I ask, we sent some parts out to a design shop and they used replace face *A LOT* and it caused nothing but problems downstream for us.

hey Justin,
replace face is a powerful option if you want to edit constructions with no parameters or I've you get a foreign to complex design result ... you can work like ... what you see is what you get... with no care about parameters. What was your problem with the replace face.
Back to the question... where is the option simplify surface?

nothing to simplify surface option in the old replace face feature.

To duplicate problem: Open any part and go to the Modeling application and do the following: insert - direct modeling - replace face.

Notice that te "simplify surface" option is missing.

The problem where "Simplify surface option no more present in replace face dialog" is designed as intended.It is hidden by default, it could be shown setting by an environment variables:

For external customer: My computer->property->Advanced->Environment Variables -> new: variable name : UGII_Simplify_Surface variable value: 1

when using UDU to run NX: set UGII_Simplify_Surface=1
