Hi

What care to be taken while installing secondary steam separator (vane type inside box) in SG?
Whether arc strike / spatter allowed on vane elements?
What are the possible damages in operation ? Any literature would immensely help.

Thanks in advance

Well, all of the "usual" welding and metallurgical concerns for any system going INTO the secondary steam system INSIDE a pressure boundary. These are NOT trivial even in a fossil-fired steam system!

Compounded here by being inside the SG, which is a primary pressure boundary. Your question actually implies questions about even a conventional steam installation.

Arc strikes are forbidden, even outside in the steam turbine casings and drain pipes.

Dangers are FME (cracked off vanes or components) being "blown down" the moisture separator and heading into the turbine valves and then turbine vanes and blades.

That is a comprehensive reply. Arc strike and spatter are unacceptable everywhere.
