Section Classification Table - CISC

Can you please check the attached table with the latest edition of CISC and let me know if this table is any different than the most current one?

Not really, eventually I will be buying the code, waiting on the CSA S16-14 to come out, I actually have the PDF of S16-14 and the tables show the classifications in Table 1 and 2 however there is no sketch of sections. I just like to see when classifying the stem of a T section based on the latest code which will be on the 10th Ed. is it d/tw (d=depth) or d-tf/tw (tf=thickness of flange)
This is the point I am not sure of, therefore I wanted to see what the latest code is showing for stem of a T section. I hope I answered all your questions and you will be able answer mine

I can't answer your question because I don't have the latest CISC either; from what you say, it is not yet available, so it is unlikely that anyone on this forum will have it.

If your only concern is whether to use d or d-t_w, use the more conservative value of 'd' until you procure the new code; I can't imagine that it makes much difference to your calculations.

I reviewed some shop drawings last week that referenced S16-14 so I looked it up and it appeared that it was available for purchase...

S16-14 itself is available from CSA, however the CISC manual including the S16 commentary is not available as yet. It usually lags the publication of the specification by about a year.

It will be the projection of the stem (d-t.f) divided by the thickness of the stem (t.w)

Hey guys, I have another questions.
Pease see CSA S16-14 13.6(e)

For a class 3 tee section, is Mp supposed to be replaced with My? I think it is but want to confirm.
