I'm not sure if I selected the right forum. I need help calculating the section modulus of a couple different shapes. The first is a formed "C" channel: the vertical side is 16" tall, the horizontal flange is 4" top and bottom, with a vertical return of 3 3/4" top and bottom, and the material thickness is .250
The second one I need help with is a fabricated beam made from two rectangular tubes (astm 500) 5 x 3 x .188 that are spaced one on top of the other, with the 5" side being vertical and the 3" side being horizontal. The distance between the two beams is 18". Thank you, Paul

You can use this software, which can calculate all sectional properties of any cross section.
