Section view label already in use

I have looked through old threads and found Cowski's version of something similar and tried the advice that was given but to no avail.

One of our users has a 3 sheet drawing, each with 3 views (normal and section) all have lables displayed but we are struggling to get all the view labels named in order (A-A, B-B, C-C etc), There are some gaps for example when I try and change one of the views which is named AA-AA to be A-A, it says that the letter is already in use and I certain that it isn't, no view has got hte letter A assigned to it, we are having the same trouble with the letter E also.

Any ideas people?

Maybe something has gone awry, but the trap for new players is usually that there is a detail view or projected view of some other description that uses up the letters that are blocked. I'm also not sure that taking the option of turning off the view labelling frees up the assigned letter. It might be something worth testing.

I agree with Hudson as we had similar issues and until we got used to UG naming detail views in order with section views, it drove us nuts.

Another idea for you: while in the DRAFTING app, look at the navigator near the top. Under drawing - sheets, you will find all views listed along with the view name. See if you don't find the "A" and "E" views listed.

We found this with NX6. Seed parts created at NX6.0.1 worked fine, but seeds from 6.0.2 won't let us allocate A as a view letter, same as you are seeing. We can't find anything set anywhere, and these these seeds are just coming off File > New > Blank. We gave up in the end and doctored an NX6.0.1 seed to get the end result, but it took a lot of effort to get the seed to reflect the DPV settings for drafting.
