Section views cutting through holes dimension

Part desc.
I have a cylindrical part with two diameters ie, 3.0in OD with a turned step of 2.5in. A hole pattern cuts through both diameters. The problem is when I create a section view and dimension the smaller dia in the section view it measures from where the hole cuts through that dia. So naturally I get a smaller dia. Is there anyway to create this dimension in the section view without creating another section that misses the holes?

I can send an idw or ipt to someone if it would help.

One solution is to simply place diametr dimension at a side view. There must remain several arcs.
Another one is to make section with broken cut through one hole - cylindre centre - space between holes. Then in this section the dimension is placed from the smaller dia to centre line. Before the dimension text is placed option dia must be choosen by right click.
