Sections

Hi All,

Just trying to create a drawing view whereby some parts of the component are sectioned where as the rest are not. I will try and explain as this isn't as straight forward as it sounds!

I want to section down a shaft so that the gears are sectioned, however all other parts need to be fully view-able. If i use the section tool and choose the parts that i don't want sectioned it works to some degree but then some components are then 'hidden' due to where the section line is. is it possible to section just a couple components by arrangements?

Section Component in View
is the function that you need to utilize for this
Enter Section Component in View into your Command Finder and it will direct you to where the funtion is
You will need to do an update on your drawing views after you make the setting on what component not to section

Are some components hidden because they are on the "other side" of the section cut?

If so, perhaps a PMI section view would get what you need, see the related thread:
