Hello everyone,

I'm working on my final project for my Industrial Engineering degree, and I could really use some help in defining a target customer base. My project goal is to commercialize reverse osmosis (RO) systems with a production capacity of over 2 cubic meters per hour. I’m trying to find a practical and well-defined target market, but I'm a bit stuck on identifying an ideal customer segment to focus on.

The main challenge I’m facing is that RO systems often need customization based on client-specific requirements. I want to ensure that the market segment I choose will benefit the most from these systems, so I don't end up targeting customers for whom the solution isn’t optimal.

If you have experience in this field, I’d appreciate any guidance on finding target customers for industrial RO systems, especially recommendations that would make the market study manageable (e.g., segments with accessible data for analysis). What types of businesses or industries would be a good fit for high-capacity RO systems? Any insights would be helpful.

Thank you in advance!

The flow rate is somewhat on the smaller scale for RO systems.

The focus should be on industrial or commercial laboratories. Industrial metal platers may be another market.

That sort of size looks more like small construction site or remote camp.

Also disaster relief after fires, earthquakes, flooding that sort of thing.

Also smaller ships? At least seawater is fairly uniform.
