Hi,

I have just aquired a seismic accelerometer the requires a constant current power source. The spec for the power supply is 15-30VDC 1-6ma constant current. Here is the data sheet on this sensor.
I'm guessing that this device works by varying the voltage of the constant current power supply as acceleration increases. Am I right? If so, how critical is the quality of the power supply. This sensor will see limited use so I would rather buy a benchtop power supply that can be used for more than just this application. Can you suggest a reasonably inexpensive cc power supply that is suitable for this sensor.

Thanks Ray

Use two 9 V batteries in series. You may use rechargable ones, too ! It will last many days.

From a pair of 9V alkaline batteries you could expect about
100 hours, or you could buy 3 rechargable ones and keep one
on the charger.
