Is there a good tutorial or example of a small building (wood, steel or masonry) available that uses the latest NHERP or FEMA 450 approach to seismic analysis? I'm looking for a general methodology. Is there an Excel spreadsheet available?

thanks, Dik

You will find FEMA 451 - NEHRP Recommended Provisions - Design Examples.

I don't think the hard copy is available yet, but the entire publication is online.

Excellent article... thanks, Dik

Simplified Building Design for Wind and Earthquake Forces by James Ambrose and Kimitry Vergun is an excellent reference book for the types of structures you mention.
