Selecting part of an assembly in graphics view expands parts tree - can I stop that? 1

I have a product comprised of a mix of parts and assemblies. If I select a part of an assembly in the graphics view it instantly expands the assembly in the parts tree. Unfortunately, some of these assemblies are quite big and I'm only selecting them to drag or identify. I find myself constantly collapsing the tree.

Is there a way of stopping the expansion? I have looked in the options but can't see anything.

Tools > Options > System Options > FeatureManager --- Scroll selected items into view
