I am trying to select appropriate steel beam sizes for a composite floor system that I am designing. How would I go about this if I were using Sap 2000 as my design tool? I understand that ETABS has more design capabilities when it comes to composite design but it isn't available to me right now. I've read somewhere that when using SAP 2000, some design overwrites have to be made in order to account for the lateral bracing provided by the composite action between the steel i-beams and the slab. In short, my questions are:

1. Is SAP 2000 sufficient enough for composite design?
2. What kind of overwrites would I have to make (eg. Minor Unbraced Length Ratio).
3. What are the dangers of these overwrites?

I look forward to your response. Thanks in advance!
