I had a big problem with this, could not get the hang around of selection cycling in draft sight, because i was used with acad after 2011 and expected to find a Selection Cycling dialog box
so draft sight works like acad 2007-2010
1. At the Select Objects prompt, hold down the SHIFT+SPACEBAR and click as near as possible to the object you want.
2. Keep clicking until the object you want is highlighted.
3. Once the object you require is highlighted, press ENTER to select the object
4. Note: If the selection preview is turned on, you can cycle through the objects by rolling over the object on top to highlight it. Then press and hold SHIFT, and then press the SPACEBAR continuously. When the required object is highlighted, left-click to select it.
