Hello,
Has anyone worked with selective catalytic reduction equipment for reducing exhaust NOx?

I'm looking at an application that will be using low speed propulsion engines and possibly high-speed diesel generating sets with a urea system and SCRs. Fuel will be low-sulphur (1% or less) so ammonia sulphate clogging will be (hopefully) low. Urea injection will be far enough upstream of the SCR to allow proper mixing.

I'm wondering about some of the operational issues. Do you have to clean the catalyst elements or just replace them? Supposedly the urea just turns into water and gasses - is this true in practice or is there sludge to remove? Any corrosion issues downstream of the urea injection? Any issues with pumping it onboard into the tanks?
