I work for a heavy civil firm and we are investigating areas that can benefit from using self compacting concrete (SCC). I was hoping to draw from the experience of others who have used the product. A few of my questions are as follows:
Due to the flowable nature of the mix, what grade or slope can the top surface be finished? (1%,5%, etc..)
Over what length will the mix flow?
How much control does the supplier have over these properties?
Can the supplier adjust the mix design to allow the concrete to be placed on a 5% slope and still be considered SCC?
Any input would be appreciated.
