Hello All

I am working on a tank that has self supporting cone roof. There are already 3 nozzles installed on the roof. I want to install a new nozzle. So, my question is how do I calculate maximum load that I can put on the roof before it starts bending/deforming? It is an atmospheric tank. Thanks

If the loading is pretty light, there wouldn't normally be any calculations done. And if the load is very high, you'd probably want to put support beams or stiffeners on anyway.

You could use WRC 107/297 as an approximation, or use FEA.
