Hello everyone,
I have some troubles trying to model a situation where a hand of a man touches a piece of wood of large dimension (it is considerate as infinite) and the same case touching a steel piece. I have seen that there is an element type appropiate with this kind of problem which is INFIN110 but idon't know hot to use it. The aim of doing this is to find the temperature in the contact. It is supposed that the skin is at a temperature of 35ºC and the wood/steel at 20ºC and i want to do a transient analysis and take several photos at different time steps. Any idea of how to do that? thanks in advance.

If you go to the Ansys help and search on INFIN110, you will see several hits such as VM49, VM206, etc. These are sample problems in the Verification manual. Click on those and you will see a description of the problem and a summary of the results. In the table a the the beginning there is a line for input listing. Click on that and there is the script for the problem. There may be something there that will answer your question.

Thanks for the response, but it doesn't works well,
The model consists in determine the temperature of the contact between the skin and the wood. I have thought to do it as i do normally my thermal 2D problems (with PLANE55). I have two possible responses in how to do it:

1) One of them is to create two rectangles of large length but short width. After I put the top and bottom edge at their respective temperature (35ºC for the skin and 20ºC for the wood) and let the ansys to do the transient analysis. The problem is that there is part of the area that has to be heated and really i don't know if it's well modelled.

2) This option deserve more respect for me cause i think is more accurate but i don't know how to really do it. It consists in create the same two areas linked by a line, which I create CONTA172 + TARGE169 for it. In this contact which keyopt should be switched on? and on the other hand how can ask ansys to give me the final temp result at the contact line once the stationary state has come?.

Thanks for the responses.
