Hi, can someone please direct me to the code or standard used in North America to determine where a boiler can be located in relation to a motor control center, and human occupied areas (eg a control room or office, etc). Ie is there a minimum required distance from fired equipment? In this instance, it's a 4 MMBtu/hr natural gas fired glycol heater.
Apologies for the simple question - our Mech Engineer recently quit and we haven't managed to hire a replacement yet.

There are not specific requirements for o human or machinery other than the building and mechanical codes requires a separatenroom/boiler room which shall be special built for fired equipment. You will need a mechanical engineer or a designer to get through permitting with the local building n safety. Unless you are in an area where the code is not enforced. Heavy industry area or rural industrial buildings. Good luck.
