Septic Design Build?

Do any of you ever perform Design & Build Septic systems?

I have the opportunity to partner with a small construction company to start expanding some septic design builds.

Just wondering if any of you have self performed the construction and design in the past?

You have to check with the local gov't about who is allowed to design septic systems. In some states a PE is not allowed to design the system unless they have worked for an installer for a while. Usually the Pollution people deal with these.

In NY it is a "Design Professional", and that is typically an engineer. Most muni's require and interpret that to mean engineer here.

I am more concerned with any conflicts that might inherent in a design build scenario where I design, and manage the construction activities by hiring subcontractors (or self performing) to do construction.
