Septic System Installation - Contractor/Engineer relationship

Hello,

I am putting together a short presentation for septic system installers. The basic focus of the presentation is ways that the contractor can ensure a smooth working relationship with the engineer. I am looking for common generic problems encountered by engineers when working with contractors (specifically septic system installers, but many problems will be common).

Examples of types of problems I am looking for:
1) Ensure that you (the contractor) are using the final for construction drawings, and not a previous (superceded) drawing set.
2) Notify the engineer in advance of installing anything requiring inspection, otherwise it will have to be dug up to be inspected.
3) Let the engineer know of any discrepancies in drawings/specs as soon as possible.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

In Minnesota the township has an inspector for the installation and the State has licensed only certain persons as installers. No engineer involved for normal septic systems.
