Service life of fixed, internal & external floating roofs 2

Dear All, Good day,

I would like to know how much is the lifetime of the API storage tanks roofs(is there any thing related to that in API?).

Actually, i saw a fixed conical roof built in 1979 before two days. Some of supporters underneath the roof has been bulked & bended.

Is that mean the steel network underneath the roof not any more strong enough?.

Depending on initial design and service conditions, anywhere from 1 year to 30 years.

The service life is "indefinite", depending on the service conditions, the extent and maintenance of coatings and linings, and the degree of inspection. There are old riveted tanks oil tanks still in service that are past the 60 year mark, and municipal water tanks that are past the century mark.
API doesn't address service life or require design for a specific service life.
If there is a known corrosion rate, it can be used to estimate remaining service life, time to next inspection, etc., but that is not a fixed constant.

The title of the OP is about floating roofs, so the question about service life is not about the tank but about the floating roof. Apparently the floating roof legs are buckled and bent. If this is a steel floating roof it is now very dangerous to go inside without cribbing. If this is an aluminum floating roof, it is only dangerous. There have been floating roofs in good service for 20 years ( although they are not one of the newer designs ) and there have been ones sunk or damaged in one year or less. It's all about the service conditions and initial quality.

Mr.IFRs the tank i have seen it is fixed conical roof. the tank is for gas oil storage.
