I would like to ask some advice. I have a project where I need to repair a roadway. The roadway is in between two lakes with four culverts underneath. There is always a pavement failure because the culverts are already corroded. There is always a dip on the road and to bring it back to grade additional asphalt are placed on top of the existing road. I would like to repair the road permanently. I cannot place cofferdams upstream and downstream of the culvert since it will cause flooding on the upstream basin. The existing culvert is corrugated metal pipe and I would like to replace it. The pipe is approximately an 18-inch or 24 inch pipe.
Is there a way that I can replace the culvert? Upon replacement of the culvert I am planning to replace the limerock base with an asphalt base. I would appreciate if you can provide any suggestions that you can provide to replace this culvert without constructing cofferdams? Your input is greatly appreciated.
