Hi all,
I've been stumped on this problem for a while now, and please explain to me in layman's terms if possible as I'm still relatively new to Catia. Anyways, here it is:
When I was finished importing all my individual parts, and wanted to determine an accurate inertia matrix of the entire product, I realized my center of gravity was not the origin(0,0,0) of the assembly. Now, I just want to reset the point of reference, where new parts would be imported, to be the center of gravity.
I don't think translating the whole assembly as a whole would work, as the old reference point would move the same amount as the center of gravity, meaning the two point's distance would not change essentially.
Also, I tried constraining the center of gravity to the old reference point, but I also realized that it wasn't the reference point moving to coincide with the center of gravity, but rather the other way round, where the center of gravity was moved to the bottom of the assembly, to where the old reference point was, and thus wrong.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you all for your time!
