The company I work for has two locations. We have a T1 connection to shared data. We have a server at both locations. I have set up a replicating function to mirror SW files, toolbox and pallet feature directories. This replication takes place twice a day with the most current file overwriting the older version no matter where it was created. The drives on both servers have identical file structures. I know that it is possible for some toolbox configurations to be lost if both are created at the same time at both locations, but do not know what else to do. The company is not able to buy SmartTeam or any high end file management software.
I would like to hear from others that have the same enviroment to discuss problems, possible set up solutions or direct me with economical software to help me get this working. I have just started this replicating and am working through issues as they come up.
I would be willing to discuss in more detail over the phone if possible. Please contact me if desired. Russ 989-777-0110 ext 218
Thank you for your help!

Are you using Windows or Unix servers? If you have Unix servers, there is a function called RSYNC that can synchronize different folders on different servers. You can also specify which direction to synchronize, so that one site will essentially be in control of that folder. Windows has nothing similar to this, sadly.
