I've very little experience with ACAD 2000; most of it's with 2002. I'm trying to help set somebody up to use paper space dimensioning in 2000. The problem is that it appears that the dimension scales need to be manually set for each new viewport. Is that true?

In 2002, I set DIMASSOC to 2 and then create and dimension viewports in paper space with no further thought to dimension scaling. However, it appears that DIMASSOC came out post 2000 and its predacessor DIMASO doesn't seem to have the same funtionality.

So, is it necessary to manually set the dimension scales to match the scale of each new viewport or can it be automated somehow?

If it must be manual, is there a LISP routine to automatically create new dim styles whose scale matches a selected viewport?

In the DDIM dialog, click Modify, then choose the Fit tab. In the Fit tab select "Scale Dimensins to Layout (Paper Space). See if that helps. Your dimensions should all be in Paper Space, snapping to objects in the viewports. DimAssoc should be 2.
