Setting to Select Items with Mouse

I've been using AutoCAD 2008 for awhile and seem to have "lost" a setting somehow. Don't remember changing anything but I used to be able to select several items one at at time just by clicking the left mouse button.

Now if I want to select more than one item I have to press and hold the Shift button while left clicking.

Any ideas on where to change this setting?
