I used to be able to do this with ease.
I have forgotten how as I have been away from it about three years.
I basically need a tutorials or pointers on how to set up a drawing in Paper space correctly?

I aint a qualified "designer" I am an engineer who was taught the basics of the packages and thown in.

Currently I do the following:
-Set up Paper space thorugh page setup suits the correct size
- Then insert the title block
Scale it accordingly to fit the paper space page
-Then I insert a Viewport so I can see through to model space
- Pan and Zoom out to get a presentable picture

Also the correct way of zooming to scale would be handy?

It just does not strike me the right way of doing it as it takes too long....used to use templates for starting up new drawings but until I get it right I need some one to help.
...
Someone I know just scales the vport to size to suit the Title block and does not bother with the page set up part.

I want to find out how to do it correctly as I dont want to be wasting time on it.

Title block should be the full size of the paper less margins - ie 24 x 36, etc. In Paper Space of course. Set to plot extents 1 to 1. Put a viewport in Paper Space (MView, etc). Then change the scale property of the viewport to set the scale - type in 1/48 for 1/4 inch = 1 foot, etc. assuming you draw full size and one drawing unit is one inch (in Model Space). Then pan around inside the viewport until you see your stuff. Then lock the viewport.

I set the page up as what ever size thats required i.e. in this case A1 then import the title block for an A1 sheet but it still required scaling is this normal?

Click on the viewport and look in the Properties window (Ctrl-1). Drawing Scale will say "Custom." Click in that box and change it to the scale you want. If you change the annotation scale, it will change the drawing scale to match. When you've got the right scale and have panned to the right position, lock the viewport through the properties window.

Did you set up the title block in Paper Space? If so, it should be fine. If not, use CHSPACE through the Viewport to get it into Paper Space.
