Dear all,

I am looking for a paper written Chuck Brawner. The topic of the paper is something like "Embankment Settlement on Peat - Lower Mainland" The site was somewhere on Hwy 1 near Port Mann Bridge. I tried looking up the UBC Library site, E Journal, that kind of thing...no luck

So I would greatly appreciate if any one could give me some idea where I can find this article.

Thankx

Why don't you just call Chuck directly?? If you don't know him, someone in your firm might. He's a great guy and I am sure that he would help out. There were major peat studies in Burnaby during the building of the TransCanada Highway through there. Geocon did a lot of the work along with Chuck. Another name, though I am not sure of his present co-ordinates, is Mike Hoy. They used hogfuel embankments - I've seen a lot of the consolidation test stuff but do not have access at present (or future either). Fenco did a big study for City of Burnaby on Construction in the Burnaby Lake Plains - back in early 1960s. Just some other info you might want to look into. But, try Chuck first.

Chuck's office is 604 904-6717 he has a new autobiography "50 years around the world" and I'm sure he would be happy to find the paper for you or would answer your questions directly.

cheers.

jdmm - how to get his auto??? I first ran into Chuck at the Syncrude Geotechnical Review Board - he's a good friend of my mentor. Also, I had the pleasure of sitting in one of his courses at UBC - a real class guy!

jmdd - check out a few of my posts - I gave my email address (shouldn't have!). Send it there rather than put it out for all. Thanks. I worked in VCR for 1981-1988. Worked on Nanaimo to Joyce Skytrain construction.
