hello

please, I'd like to ask some help
Seems to me a simple question, nonetheless I haven't found an asnwer nor in the forum nor in google.

Following is the question

Let's consider an axial fan.
Absorbed power is known.
How can I determine Shaft power ?

Absorbed power is input power.
Input power x motor efficiency = output power
Output power is shaft power.

Shaft power is absorbed power + mechanical losses (bearings).
By the way If you have a gearbox between driver and driven you need to define if you are refering to which shaft.

What do you consider absorbed power and shaft power to be?

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)
 
Absorbed power or fan power is mechanical(fan) power imparted to working fluid+losses in working fluid. Which can be ΔP x flow/ fan efficiency. Shaft power is power in shaft, i.e fan power + bearing losses. Motor power is shaft power/motor efficiency,assuming no gearbox or belt.
