I am designing my first moderately high building (10 storys). In other buildings to date I have used shear wall construction before but as axial compression due to vertical loads have dominated, lateral/ wind loads have not been critical.
With this building I intend to provide stability using shear cores to resist the wind loads. I am practicing in Ireland and there is a lack of concise information regarding the proper design of shear cores. I have read theory about dynamic analysis, post elastic stress distribution , plastic stress distribution, lintel forces in coupled walls etc but cannot find an accurate design guide. Can anyone help me?
